Purpose of This Guide
North Carolina law makes specified arrest information and many existing government records public, but that does not place every record in one database. The Edgecombe County Sheriff’s Office creates and maintains county detention records and operates the Inmate Confinements portal for current custody and recent admissions. The North Carolina Department of Adult Correction provides information about people in state prison or under state supervision. North Carolina courts hold the later case record, including disposition. Records requests provide a route when an existing public document is not available through a live portal.
This site organizes those official sources and explains which custody stage each one covers. It also describes when to ask ECSO for Records/Booking routing and when a court or state source is more appropriate. No arrest record or booking photograph is copied into a local gallery here.
Resources Included Here
The site focuses on practical, source-specific lookup help:
- The county recent-arrests hub covers the official roster, booking record fields, available booking photos, warrant and alert channels, records requests, and North Carolina law.
- Separate guides explain the rolling 24-hour admissions view, the multi-day arrest log, and VINELink custody checks and alerts.
- City pages explain how Rocky Mount, Tarboro, and Princeville records connect to the Edgecombe County booking system.
- Step-by-step guidance distinguishes county jail records, state NCDAC offender information, court dispositions, and federal or immigration custody sources.
- Request guidance identifies the verified public contact route without promising a fee, response time, or record that the agency has not confirmed.
